1- Dafont
Dafont is one of the best font sites out there I put it as number one because it really deserves that place. If I hadn't said you wouldn't have known that it is actually free.
It offers a great variety of font categories, starting from Serif and Sans-serif to all fancy and script fonts
You can even see a preview of whatever text you want to write before even downloading and using the fonts 
2- Google Fonts
As Dafont, google fonts also is an excellent website for a variety of free fonts. I haven't put it as number one because Dafont has so much more fonts compared to google fonts. but, Google Fonts has an enormous advantage over Dafont, and that for almost every font it can provide you with an average of 8 font styles like how bold it is and so much more.
In conclusion, it really depends on your usage. Do you want a wide font variety or a bunch of different styles for the same font.
